FAUW and Communication Arts with community partners present Public Advocacy for Gaza: Academic Freedom and Social Media

Drs. Nahla Al Sarraj and Yipeng Ge will talk about their medical advocacy work on Palestine and its intersection with social media. Dr. Ge will discuss the limits on his academic freedom while a medical resident at University of Ottawa, and Dr. al Sarraj will share her experience as a mental health advocate on social media while a psychiatry resident at Western University. Together, they will raise important issues on the protections of academic freedom when publicizing their work of medical advocacy through social media.
