Dear colleagues,

the Department of Philosophy is delighted to announce the first ever call for nominations of student papers for the new Wubnig Prize in the History of Philosophy. Students who write an essay on the history of philosophy for any course (whether or not it's a Philosophy course) are eligible to win this prize. Thus, for instance, a student writing a paper on the history of Russian philosophy for the REES 271 is eligible for the award. The contest will be adjudicated in March 2010, but please do keep your eyes peeled for papers that might be good candidates for this prize in your fall and winter courses. You may submit candidate essays by email to Professor Joseph Novak, Acting Chair of the Department of Philosophy at jnovak@uwaterloo.ca.
