<div>Dr. Davis is Professor Emeritus of Philosophy at Simon Fraser
University and Carleton University and Adjunct Professor of Philosophy
at McGill University and the Université du Montréal. </div>

<div><a href="http://www.ahed-upesed.org/"><font color="#0000ff"><u>Academics
for Higher Education & Development –Universitaires pour l’Education
Superieure & le Development</u></font></a>
(AHED-UESD) is a bi-lingual NGO based in Montreal with a mission to
support developing countries build capacity in higher education. It
fulfills its mission by sending retired and active professionals and
academics (staff, faculty and administrators) on projects to developing
world universities, colleges, and ministries of
higher education.</div>

<div>AHED-UESD has a number of partnerships, including the School of
Social Work and the Institute of Developing-area Studies at McGill,
UQAM, UPEI, the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Montreal and
with the School of Nursing at UBC. Following Dr. Davies
talk, AHED-UESD and Laurier International will be discussing the
possibility of establishing a Waterloo regional chapter. </div>

<div>Currently AHED-UESD is involved with projects in Indonesia with
the State Islamic University Sunan Kalijaga; the Department of Computer
and Information Science at the University of Cape Coast in Ghana; and
with Medical schools at the University of Addis
Ababa in Ethiopia; the National University of Rwanda; and the
University of Liberia. </div>
