Everyone is cordially invited to attend the second Jewish Studies
Lecture of the fall term.<br>
<br>
Dr. Jeremy Dauber of Columbia University will be speaking on "Comedy
Tonight: Jewish Humour in Television and Film":<br>
<br>
"Jewish Humour is as famous as it is hard to define. What makes comedy
Jewish? How does Jewish history create -- and transform -- comedy? This
lecture will explore Jewish comedians in television and film -- many of
whom helped shape the media of the 20th century and expand the
boundaries of American comedy. Explore American Jewish comedy from the
Marx Brothers to Nichols and May to Sid Caesar and Ali G., with detours
to Woody Allen, Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David."<br>
<br>
The lecture will take place on <u>Monday 17 November</u> at <u>7:30 pm</u>
in <u>Siegfried Hall</u>, <u>St. Jerome's</u>. <br>
<br>
The lecture is free and there will be a reception after the talk.
Everyone is welcome. <br>
