For those interested in excavation in Greece, there are a number of
projects that now are advertising for students/staff next summer

1. The Mount Lycaion Excavation website now has information about
the 2008 season. The excavation and survey focuses on a sanctuary site
in the Peloponnese. This is a great project, with good leadership, and
lots of opportunity to learn, and in a beautiful part of Greece. It is
not, however, near a beach, so don't apply thinking you will be on the
sea every evening!

2. The Mitrou Excavation is on the east coast of Greece, opposite
the island of Euboia (modern Evvia). It is a Neolithic-Bronze Age
habitation and cemetery site on a tiny island just off the coast. You
would wade across the strait every day to go to work. It has an
extraordinarily well-run field school, and a lot of great staff.

3. For any Francophones, the Argilos archaeological project also is
taking applications. This is a joint Greek-University of Montreal
project. I have not visited this one and don't know the staff, but it
looks like an interesting project too.
